The Sh*t Show of an Author Update: Stress, Life & WTAF

May 5th - June 17th

Welcome to this months fiasco of did the author write..? No she didn't.

Writing Progress

Did I write this month..? Did I fuck.

I have never been so stressed out in such a short space of time. It usually builds until I hide in a cupboard and cry until it makes me feel better. This has just been a whirlwind of tears, frustration and exhaustion.

All thanks to myself not linking the orignal design of my website. Too bland I thought. Not authory enough. But do I hire anyone? Nope. Because apparently I like to torture myself.

I had a vision and it was going to work. It has I am in love with my site. It's still not finsihed as I have to make up some proper images and redo my logo, but the overall look and style it right up my alley. And hopefully yours too.

But Abbie, why did it take so long?

Well my curious readers, because I tried to reach for the stars and feel flat on my face. I tried making my own theme for a few weeks and it just wasn't getting anywhere. It worked sure, but it was very restrictive and what I wanted didn't fit that. So I moved through and found out my own hosting site offeres a free page builder. it did releive some stress and I got everything up and running in two weeks.

Until mobile responsive came into play.

And that is where teh stress came back. Its great now though. I figured out and worked step by step to get everything going.

So, no writing this month.

ps. If you catch any errors let me know in the comments.

Life this Past Month

As you can probably gather from the previous section, it has been stressful. Ups and dows and loopty-loops. But its all sort of came to an end on sunday night when I finsihed my site.

However, I now have two birthdays to get done. I don't know how it happend but two of my children were born four days apart. At the same exact time of day might I add. I am actually writing this after making Hello Kitty sugar decorations for one cupcake tower. Took me all day to do that. Never tried it before so I had to make it work. It did. Not professionally but she'll love them.

Other than life life has been good. Stressful but good. My youngest has started speaking in sentances and being the best snuggle bug. Helping me clean, learning some phonics, numbers and all that stuff. My others have been chaos in a a huge ball making mess where ever they breath. So that has been a battle.

And that is why I am so thankful for my best friend, who just seems to know when I need help. Her heart is big and bright and I don't know what I'd do without her. She has kept me sane this month. Reminding me that I'll do it. As I always have done. Love her!

And because of her I did manage to get my shit together! Almost.

Bookish Recap

What I read

Nothing. I have tried. I read a chapter of Throne of Secrets by Kerri Maniscalco and listend to a few CC by Sarah J Mass. But I have honestly just bee way to occupied with my website. Staying up until 3am some nights.

Books I Bought

Throne of Secrets by Kerry Maniscalo

A favourite author of mine and I loved her kingdom of the wicked series. And ugh... Envys story was perfection. I can't wait to start reading again and this will be the first I start with.

For Whom the Bell Tolls by Jaysea Lynn

This I picked up from my big shop at Asda with their two books for £9 deal. It caught my eye. I havn't read anything by her yet so this will be a first.

The Daisy Chain Flower Shop by Laurie Gilmore

This I picked up with teh book above to keep my collectiong of the Dream Harbor Series. I love this small town romance series. It's so sweet and very easy to read.

The Ruinous Love Trilogy by Brynne Weaver

This one I saw all the hype over on instagram and Tiktok and though why not. The covers re amazing too. Love the sheen details on a matte background.

Fury Bound by Sable Sorensen

This one I didn't buy. My partner and daughter went to the shop and she dragged him down the book aisle, telling him taht I've been working hard and that I deserve a book. Shes a lovely girl. And he can't say no to her sweet little face either. And its a Tesco special edition. I didn't even know they did that. So know we know.

Death Bringer by Sonia Tagliareni

This was my Fairy Loot edition I recived and the cover is stinning and the artwork is out of this world. The wait for Fairyloot is well worth it. Even if you're scared to read teh special editions.

Plans for the Next Month

Right... I promise this time. I will start writing and reading again this month. After the second birthday in a few days, where I get a breather. Life is busy and so is being a home educating mum.

But other than that I will be resting. Being patient with myself comes first. I can hear my mum now. "Stop burning the candle at both ends."

Closing Note

I'm going to bed now and get some sleep. That is my closing note for this one. My first step to resting, is by getting some rest.

Until Next Time
